Day 1

Colombo
Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer Colombo. Additional Notes: Arrive at any time and enjoy your day. Please meet your representative in the hotel lobby at for the welcome meeting. Included Activities: Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting Transport: Arrival Airport Transfer

Day 2

Colombo/ Anuradhapura
Proceed to Anuradhapura to be familiar with amazing monuments dating back to the very first kingdom of Sri Lanka; almost all Buddhist places of worship. Some sites, though ruined, still remain so proud with the years old smooth carvings & frescos. Abhayagiri vihara site including Samadhi Buddha prathima, kuttam pokuna (a pond which is said to be used by kings those times) and many such sites will allow you to troll among a heaven of past Ceylon architectural creations. You will also discover some common features of the era in creations like pillars, stair cases, entrances, etc in almost all the sites.

Day 3

Anuradhapura / Polonnaruwa
Head to Polonnaruwa, the second kingdom in Sri Lanka which is also full of architectural creations done during Polonnaruwa kingdom era. Examine the spectacular rock carvings indicating the live features lord Buddha in various postures in temples such as Gal viharaya, Thiwanka image house,… similarly the massive pillars of Watadageya would still make you amazed with its inimitable charm.

Day 4

Polonnaruwa / Sigiriya
Stop for another single day at Sigiriya to see industries of two eras at the same plot of land, on the same construction. The rock fortress is said to be built by the greatest architect of the era during the reign of King Ravana as per written in Ramayana & the frescos, natural fountains still in automatic operation are said to be built by King Kashyapa as per written on late composed books. Same natural rock mass being converted into a well-secured castle during two far reign sessions is still a wonder for all, hence was nominated as the 8th wonder of the world for some years in the near past. After a visit of old architectural wonders you would really miss a stay at Heritance Kandalama, a gigantic thought of world famous Ceylon architect, Jeffrey Bawa.

Day 5

Dambulla/Kandy
Tour the impressive Dambulla Cave Temple and admire ancient Buddhist murals and statues. Continue on to Kandy and enjoy a tour of the Temple of the Tooth, which houses an important relic — a tooth of Lord Buddha kept in a well-preserved golden casket. Three major sections there; Wedahiti maligaya, paththirippuwa, aluth maligaya with the rest of the premises like mahawahalkada are still inimitable constructions that can be seen there. No doubt that any best architect would not be able to imagine the plan of the building premises at a glance! Also visit Ambekke temple to see the world’s best wood carvings in a simple unique plot of land.

Day 6

Kandy / Bentota
Turn your way to Bentota from Kandy. Visit Lunuganga estate by Goeffrey Bawa where you can see a garden full of modern architectural monuments. You would also wish a relaxation at the pristine beaches at Bentota by the sunset.

Day 7

Bentota / Galle
A day tour or an excursion to Galle will not be a waste of time in your architectural visit in Sri Lanka. Galle will take you to the old Netherlands for a while with its years lasting buildings constructed Dutch ruling period in Sri Lanka. See the Dutch reformed church, Maritime museum & the lighthouse. A lunch at Galle fort will also be an extraordinary experience of your day with the bliss of the ocean at your sight.

Day 8

Negombo
Turn your way back to home on 8th day. Do not miss to collect some souvenirs at Colombo, the commercial city for the loved ones waiting for you at your homeland. Your CEO can assist you with arranging an easy transfer to Colombo or the International airport. Included Activities: Departure Day
